How Does Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Work?
Laser vaginal rejuvenation is an in-office procedure that can take up to 30 minutes to complete. No anesthesia is required for the treatment. At the time of the procedure, a wand-shaped handpiece will be maneuvered around the exterior labia and vulvar tissues. The handpiece may be placed inside your vagina as it emits controlled laser energy to the tissues and vaginal skin to stimulate collagen, strengthening the area. A built-in thermometer is included on the wand so that the temperature can be monitored and manipulated as needed to prevent discomfort or injury.
There is typically no recovery period or downtime associated with nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation. You may resume your everyday activities upon the conclusion of the treatment. For maximal results, Dr. Giordano may recommend that you receive three treatments set one month apart. Many patients notice results after the first or second session while some may not notice a difference for up to three months following the procedure. These results can last up to about 18 months, and yearly touch-ups will help you maintain them.
